Teaser Tuesday

It's that favourite day of the week again. Here's my teaser. God, that seems to be all I post on my blog these days. Well, you can blame "Beautiful Creatures". Still reading it and loving it very much. Hope the book stays that way until the end. I really don't want any screw ups!

  1. Glen, your writing is so polished! This is a neat job. I love stories with secrets (don't we all?) and I'm so curious about what's happening with Giaan. He sounds so scared..

  4. Ohhh, I had no idea he had a special power--AWESOME! The way you describe it is so great, too. Curious to see how he gets out of this mess!

  7. What a cool power! I like how subtly you mention it here too. And thank goodness he has some small ray of hope!

  8. Hey. I like your simplistic style of writing. It's very compelling and polished. Even though I have no idea what's going on :) Reads very nicely.

And I've heard beautiful Creatures is great. Hmm...maybe I should check it out?

  11. I'm so glad you haven't pulled this yet!! How did I miss it? This is so awesome, I've been following along with this so it's so cool to get to the plot twists. Can't wait for more.

  12. Finally getting around to everyone's teasers, I'm glad yours is still up.

I think you captured his fear and despair really well, and that even having a "power" doesn't necessarily offer an easy way out. Makes him a nicely rounded, complicated character.

And thanks for all your comments on my blog, too!

  14. Wait a minute, Giaan has some sort of power? I never knew that! In fact, I never would've guessed! I thought this was realistic fiction, that's why... But this teaser was splendid, as usual. Everything's beginning to get clearer.

(I know I'm commenting a week later, but I want to understand the next teaser you post, so yeah...)

  15. @ Remilda, yes it is, in a way, realistic fiction. The book doesn't focus on powers (in fact, you never hear of Giaan's powers again until much, much later in the book). It's not a superhero book or anything like that. The focus is on the characters and how they go through their lives.
