Teaser Tuesday

It's Tuesday again and you know what that means. Here's my teaser. Continues from last week's, but unfortunately I've taken that one down.

Last week, Giaan and Aletea, his girlfriend, were shopping in London. Today, they're still in London, but Giaan receives a call from one of his best friends. If you've been following my teasers, or if you read the very first few ones, you'll recognise the name of Giaan's friend.

Snippet starts:

*Snip snap!*

Snippet ends.

You don't remember Jon? I'll give you a hint. Here's a brief snip from one of my earliest teasers:

*Snip snap!*

Yeah. Jon. The same boy who encountered David Reilly in Egypt. David Reilly who hates Egypt and his wife. That's whole idea of my WIP. Each chapter (called episodes) focuses on a different character, and all these characters are interlinked with one another somehow.

  3. "Um, if I were shopping on my own, I'd be back in about forty minutes. But Ally's shopping as well, so let's say, give or take three years. Two, if I'm lucky."

    AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I literally laughed out loud. Love the dialogue! Great teaser. <3

  6. I really liked this. I think it flows so well, like I'm right there watching all the interactions. My favorite bit was this "Aletea hated football and everything to do with football. She didn't mind Giaan talking about it, so long as she wasn't part of his audience. " Only because this is the case of my hubby and I. LOL I am Giaan and he is Aletea, if you were wondering LOL

  7. @ Marilyn Lol! You need to convert your hubby to the dark side of the force!

@ Debra: no it didn't eat your comment. I have to accept comments for my blog. Need to change that.

  9. I am in awe with your ability to write captivating dialogue. Each one of your characters' personalities seems to shine through just from reading their words. Loved it!

Also, this snippet was very funny. Funny is always awesome and welcome!

  10. Forgive me for sidelining here, but I'm new to your blog, and I wanted to comment on your sidebar choices of reading.
First, it's fun for me to see the UK cover of Wings by A. Pike. I like it better than the US cover. I met her wing Wings was first released (she lives in a town only about an hour away from where I live and came up to the "big city" to do a reading at my fav. local bookstore), and she went over the whole horrible tale of getting a decent cover. She has promised me that book 2 has some Shakespeare (I assume Midsummer Night's Dream) references in it, and it is soon to be released here.
I'll be interested to see what you think of Beautiful Creatures. I thought it was quite original, but the plot was so drawn out that it's a bit too old for the kids at the school where I teach. (Really, 13-year-olds don't have that long of an attention span.) I also thought the teenage boy in the story was much more of a teen girl's fantasy boy than he was realistic. But I LOVED the library!!!! You'll have to see what you think of that library.
Thanks for letting me threadjack your comments for a minute. :)

  11. @ A paperback writer: it's cool, no harm done :) I'm actually looking forward to finishing wings. I'm almost done, and I enjoyed the book. Thought it was terrific, and I'm very surprised. I don't usually enjoy books like that.

As for beautiful creatures, I'll have to read it to see for myself haha!
